The Fast and Furious movie franchise has been beloved through seven iterations not because of what actors star in the movies, but because of what cars star in the movies. It might be the only wildly successful series of movies in the history of mainstream cinema to ever feature non-speaking, inanimate objects as the true stars of the show, and here at Executive Dodge Jeep® we never stop getting excited about new installments of these films since they are almost sure to feature some supped-up version of vehicles that we sell here at our facility.

For Fast 8, or whatever the eighth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise ends up being called, it already has become apparent that at least two FCA US LLC models will appear in the film, including an old Dodge Charger and a wildly-modified version of a RAM truck.

We know this because the production team for the film recently released a number of images featuring vehicles set to appear in the new movie, specifically in an “ice battle” scene that requires some of the vehicles to be pretty heavily modified. The character of Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, will drive an old Dodge Charger altered to offer a wider wheelbase, fender flares, and a number of bullet holes that suggest it’s in for a bit of trouble in its scene.

The other vehicle is unlike any RAM trucks currently in production, though it does use a RAM pickup cab to go along with a back end that looks like a battle tank equipped with all sorts of heavy machinery. That one will be driven by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Hobbs character.

Here in Wallingford, CT, we don’t expect to ever see vehicles quite like these out on the open road, but in some of the exciting car movies ever made we think they’ll look right at home.
