They say good things come to those who wait. That’s especially true in the auto industry, where everything takes years to go from concept to production. New trucks like the 2019 RAM 1500 are often years in the making. Recently, however, we got a peek behind the curtain at some new RAM models coming to Executive Dodge Jeep® RAM.
RAM 1500 TRX
Remember when seemingly everything rolling off a FCA US LLC assembly line had a Hellcat engine? Dodge cars were a natural fit, and we were happy to see the Jeep Grand Cherokee get some high-horsepower mojo. But now we’re happy to announce that an upcoming version of the RAM 1500 is getting its own Hellcat variant.
We’ve seen something like this before, when the RAM SRT-10 squeezed a Dodge Viper engine into a RAM truck, A few years ago, we were treated to a RAM TRX Concept that featured a Hellcat engine detuned to 575 horsepower. It’s unclear whether that engine will be the final choice, or if the horsepower gods will shower us with the full 707 horsepower available to other Hellcat variants.
RAM Mid-Sized Truck
We’re not even sure of the name of the other RAM truck due at your RAM dealership near Middletwon, CT, but we’re excited anyway. Here’s why: new RAM trucks currently come in light-duty and heavy-duty variants. That leaves a significant gap that hasn’t been covered in quite some time. That truck, a one-ton hauler, arrives at dealerships some time between now and 2022.
The road to 2022 has some uncertainty as well, since the plans for the Chrysler and Dodge brands still appear to be in flux. But if you’re a fan of RAM trucks or Jeep SUVs, there’s cause for excitement… great new things are just over the horizon. Meantime, visit Executive Dodge Jeep RAM at 406 South Orchard Street in Wallingford, CT for all your automotive needs!
